The dense landscape of Manhattan has just received another skyscraper, this time designed by a Portuguese Pritzker. At 137 meters tall and with 35 stories, Álvaro Siza’s first building in New York, at 611 West 56th Street, was completed externally. The luxury condominium, which is also Siza’s first work in the United States, also has several facilities for its residents, such as a swimming pool, spa, gym, children’s play area and spaces for events.

New York’s residential design culture extends far beyond the Big Apple. The Hudson Valley is a region that stretches along the Hudson River from Westchester County to Albany. Known for its vineyards, orchards, and farms, the river valley includes several small towns cheap bed clothes online and remote homes. Today, these rural houses are being designed to explore the connections between people, nature and place.
